Let the Light In…For Both You & Your Dog

In September 2020, I felt relieved to finally leave corporate America and started my own entrepreneurial journey.

It was (and still is) weird, scary, and satisfying all at the same time. It was a difficult decision to make, yet so simple and clear. It’s really hard for me to explain this but I will do my best. Picture this:

Frank Sinatra is singing My Way in the background as the elevator slowly descends to the 1st floor. The moment I walk out of the HQ building for the very last time, my dark shoulder-length hair catches a little breeze. My eyes are just a bit teary with joy when I realize I will no longer live my life for somebody else’s dream, but for my OWN.

I don't HAVE TO anymore. Now I GET TO. I GET to make my dream a successful reality and have fun doing it. Now every single day I do one small thing: let the light shine through and let the love flow. Literally and figuratively! Every morning, I open all the curtains in my home, and I close them all at night. It’s like a visual diet, fertilizer for my mood & my house plants.

Morty loves early morning walks when the air is crisp, and the sun is fresh. But at 10.5 years old, sometimes she sleeps in, so we go for a midday or late afternoon walk instead. We walk for 30-60 minutes if the sun is gentle on us, and much less when the sun is intense. Both you and your dog need regular exposure to natural sunlight. Making sure you both get the right amount of sunlight at different times throughout the day could help you and your dog live a healthier life.

Natural light is free and readily available to all. Don’t be shy. Take advantage of it!!
