I Am Lazy…Absolutely!
Hey there,
I imagine sometimes Morty rewards my good behavior with this generous act of kindness…by letting me be lazy every now and then. Ok, alright, every Sunday. I love the feeling of “Lazy like Sunday Morning.”
Let me tell you about my lazy day. Usually, I inhale my coffee, but I do drink more slowly on my lazy days. I commit to a 30-60 minute daily walk with Morty. On lazy days, I take her for a shorter walk. Or better yet hand a leash to my husband. Have fun you two! I grin.
On these lazy days, I trade physical exercise for mental games with Morty, such as dog puzzle games, nose-based games, or just brushing up on a few new tricks.
Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t give your dog physical exercise for a day or two. Especially during the wintertime or summer heat when the outdoor thermometer can’t even register the temp.
Here’s the good news: you can still engage your dog’s mind and stimulate the mental side of things. Start with an easy game and watch the lightbulb go off in your dog’s head. It’s practically magic!
Remember your dog sees the world with her NOSE first. Smell is their strongest sense; hearing is the second best. Surprisingly, dogs don’t have great sight compared to other senses (smell, hearing, taste, and touch). Learn more by exploring Indoor Scent Games for Dogs and 8 Fun Scent Games Your Dog Will Love.
Enjoy your lazy day!!
